Medi-hotel escapee now on the run

A woman who allegedly walked out of a CBD medi-hotel at the weekend remains on the run even though she vowed to hand herself in.

A police spokesperson confirmed that as of Tuesday morning, Samantha Sullivan had still not handed herself in.

Ms Sullivan, 35, allegedly escaped from the Pullman Hotel about 7.45pm Saturday.

She spoke to a 7 News reporter on Monday, apologising for her actions.

“Downstairs I could see all the army dudes, and I knew I wouldn’t have been able to out power them … I was just honestly really scared, I just stopped thinking,” Ms Sullivan said.

“I knew that I didn't have Covid, like I hadn’t been around anyone in Darwin that had it,” she said.

Following her alleged escape, the police are conducting an “operational review”.

On Monday Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said anyone with knowledge of Ms Sullivan’s whereabouts, also known as Samantha McNeven, should contact authorities immediately.

“We’re still looking for her, so anyone who has information about her whereabouts please make contact with Crimestoppers or directly to SA Police,” he said.

“We are keen to get her back into a medi-hotel. And I think that’s in everyone’s best interest.”

Police say she arrived on Friday at 2:45pm from Darwin and was transferred to Pullman medi-hotel where she spent the night. She then left at 7:45pm Saturday exiting via a fire exit and passing a security guard on the way.
