NSW deadline extended for small business support applications

Businesses hit hard by Omicron will have until 29 April to apply.

The deadline for applications for the NSW Government’s Small Business Support Package has been extended by 4 weeks to 29 April 2022.

The package provides financial support to smaller businesses that suffered a turnover decline of at least 40 per cent during January 2022 or early February (compared with the previous year).

Businesses will receive a minimum of $500 per week for the 4 weeks of February 2022, and up to $5,000 a week for employing businesses.

The package is open to businesses with annual turnover of between $75,000 and $50 million and other conditions also apply.

However, businesses that do not meet all the eligibility criteria may still be able to apply.

Eligible businesses can use the funds to cover business costs including:

  • salaries and wages
  • utilities and rent
  • financial, legal or other advice
  • marketing and communications
  • perishable goods
  • other business costs.

Find out more about the eligibility criteria and apply online. A qualified accountant or tax agent can also apply on your behalf.
