STK Group loses top chef
The owners behind Brisbane restaurants Hellenika and SK Steak & Oyster have lost a key team member in Kelvin Andrews.
Andrews is the K in SK and will present a big loss for STK Group, which is behind popular Fortitude Valley venues including those above and Sushi Room.
Having joined the group in 2019 as a chef at steakhouse SK, Andrews worked across Sushi Room, as well as James St eatery Sunshine.
Andrews resigned from the group citing “personal reasons”.
Though his name is synonymous with SK Steak & Oyster in particular, Andrews was not an equity shareholder or owner in the business.
STK Group is owned entirely by founder Simon Gloftis’s Gloftis Investments.
The Courier-Mail contacted Gloftis for comment, but received a short reply: “He (Mr Andrews) handed in his resignation and I accepted the resignation.”
Andrews hopes to be back at the group in the future.
