Rinehart family private chef arrested for burglary
While you would think a private chef working for the daughter of Australia’s richest woman Gina Rinehart would have the means to stay out of a life of crime, it seems Jean Lopez couldn’t resist his dark side.
Lopez has been cooking for Ginia Rinehart and husband Simon Robinson at their $15 million Bondi Beach penthouse for eight months and has also worked at some of Australia's top restaurants, including Bistro Guillame, Rockpool, The Cats Meow Bar and The Island.
He is also a part owner and consultant at South American restaurant Zama in Bondi.
However, despite his talent, the 31-year-old French national, was arrested over an aggravated break and enter at a home in North Bondi in June.
The owner was home at the time.
Lopez is alleged to have hired a locksmith to break in through the front door. He has been released from custody on strict bail conditions and must report to Bondi Beach police station daily.
The matter will return to court at a later date.
Lopez has also been hit with restraining orders from two different women.
Ginia is ranked 46th on the Rich List with a personal wealth of $2.47billion.
The Rinehart family has declined to comment.
