Pub altercation leaves man fighting for life

A Dalby plumber is fighting for his life after being allegedly punched outside a Dalby pub on the weekend.

It is alleged 32-year-old Lincoln Hoad was struck in the back of the head outside the Australian Hotel, before falling and hitting his head.

Hoad was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital and is currently on life support.

The local community has rallied around the man, with his partner of 14 years hoping for a ‘miracle’.

A GoFundMe page has been launched, which has raised $12,000 as of Monday morning.

A 33-year-old Capalaba man was charged by police with grievous bodily harm.

Hoad’s Shalika Jade thanked the community for its support.

“Thank you everyone for the messages I’ve been getting. It is so lovely just how loved my man is,” she said.

“I’ve been set up to cuddle my sweet Lincoln all night and I’ve been telling him how loved he is. Oh I wish for a miracle.”

Hoad was placed on life support after sustaining a severe brain bleed. His chance of survival is minimal.

“He was an outgoing, loud, funny, loveable guy … his smile was infectious and he would know how to cheer you up straight away! He was always there when you needed to vent or have a chat.”

If anyone has information about the incident they are asked to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote the reference number QP2301544146.
