Second stabbing reported in SA after Manhattan Motor Inn assault

An Adelaide man was stabbed at a motel at Enfield in South Australia at around 10pm on Sunday.

A 38-year-old Paralowie man was stabbed, with emergency services called to the scene to treat the man for wounds to the abdomen.

The suspect had left the hotel by the time police arrived, while the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are continuing, but it is understood the people involved are known to each other.

Knife crime continues to escalate around the country, but this was the second such event within a 24-hour period in Adelaide.

Shortly after the Manhattan Motel incident, a 27-year-old man was charged after a 53-year-old was stabbed in the northeastern suburbs.

Police and emergency services were called to Tea Tree Gully property just before 6.30pm on Monday.

The 53-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his neck and was rushed to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The 27-year-old man who is known to the victim was arrested and later charged with aggravated assault and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The man will face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, April 30 and did not apply for bail.
