Crown Resorts could layoff more staff in Perth
Crown Resorts has made over 1000 employees redundant across its national operations.
Most of the cuts have come from Sydney and Melbourne, but Perth operations haven’t been immune.
So far only 100 people from the Perth site have lost their jobs, however, chief executive Ciaran Carruthers hasn’t ruled out further cuts.
The West Australian reported that about 71 people took voluntary redundancies in Perth as part of the initial April restructure, but more cuts could also be accelerated.
Crown Perth has around 5000 people through hospitality and gambling and is the State’s largest single-site employer.
Carruthers has been running Crown from Melbourne after being brought in from Macau in 2022 after the $9 billion Blackstone takeover.
Crown’s WA boss David Tsai is considering new restaurants, bars and entertainment attractions to over the next few years despite the cuts.
