Coopers unveils $70 million brewery expansion

Coopers has unveiled its $70 million expansion next to its existing brewery at Regency Park.

“This is one of the most exciting projects we’ve undertaken in the 162-year history of Coopers Brewery,” Managing Director Dr Tim Cooper said.
“Our team has been humbled by the public’s interest, excitement, and support as this impressive building has taken shape.”

The public will have access to a diverse range of amenities, including a restaurant, multiple bars, a spacious outdoor area, family-friendly zones, a dedicated tasting room, a microbrewery, a whisky distillery, interactive history exhibits, guided tours, and a vast underground whisky storage facility. The restaurant and bar can facilitate 400 guests and offers a beer-inspired menu and a variety of beers on tap.

The new microbrewery is imported from England and focuses on exclusive craft beers. As for the whiskey stills, they are copper made from Scotland using malt made on-site. There are plans for extended maturation to enhance flavour.

“We wanted every aspect to be truly world-class and of the highest quality. It’s a significant, long-term investment by our family company and our vote of confidence in the future of Coopers and Australia’s manufacturing industry,” Cooper said.

“Coopers is very proud to have created a highly unique and immersive experience that ultimately celebrates the very best of Australian beer. We look forward to welcoming visitors from Australia and overseas to our new home.

“At the same time, our brewing and distilling team is focused on the opportunities that will emerge from our on-site microbrewery and whisky distillery.”

Visitors will be welcomed from August 28th and be invited to explore the new facility, managed by industry expert Peter Morelli.

Coopers has also updated its brewery tours which will now include the new facility as well as an interactive history display and VIP options for enthusiasts.

Bookings can be made via the Coopers website starting August 28th.
