Bite sized desserts become a growing trend

It’s a common problem when dining out, but no room for dessert may be a thing of the past after one savvy restaurateur decided to serve the sweet treats via the spoonful.

The innovative solution from 10 Willian St, the swanky restaurant in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, has already captured the attention of social media.

“This restaurant has come up with the smartest way to ensure you always have room for dessert,” wrote restaurant content creator @club.raisina.k.a. Rosie Reck.

Reck’s post has amassed over 1.3 million views.

“You can order by the spoonful. “Why isn’t every restaurant doing this?” she asked in her caption.

Not only has the idea of the spoonful of dessert gained attention, but so too has the concept of portion control.

“As someone with no sweet tooth who still enjoys dessert, this is perfect,” wrote one follower.

“This feeds the inner woman in me. When I want to try everything without committing to a large portion and wasting money,” another wrote.

Despite the innovation, the cost of the portion-controlled sweet treat has come into question.

“Better not cost more than $1 each,” one wrote.

10 Willian St charges $17 for its normal sized tiramisutiramisu while the price by the spoon is $3.50.

Bite-sized portioning is a growing trend as people look for healthier-sized desserts and try to eat less when dining out.
