Brad Sloane named AHA NSW Chef of the Year

The Riverview Hotel’s Brad Sloane was named New South Wales Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Chef of the Year 2012 last week in front of over 1,000 New South Wales hoteliers, business and community leaders at a ceremony at The Westin, Sydney.

It has been a big year for Balmain’s Riverview Hotel following a change of the ownership, the venue’s subsequent relaunch in September and news coming of head chef Brad Sloane's achievement as NSW AHA Chef of the Year.

According to organisers competition was tough with a record 277 finalists across 32 categories.

“While I feel our hard work is already rewarded by the loyalty of our customers, it means a great deal to be acknowledged by the industry and our peers," said Brad Sloane of the accolade.

"I thank The Riverview for trusting me to evolve the menu this year, and I look forward to continuing to create the kind of food that people want to eat.”
