Former hotel chain CEO pleads guilty to breaches

The former chief executive of a collapsed WA hotel chain has pleaded guilty to three charges of breaching director's duties.

Former Compass Hotel Group boss, Bryan Raymond Northcote, faced court in Sydney after an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Compass owned 12 licensed premises, including the Albion and Kalamunda Hotels and Herdsman Lake Tavern.

The group went into receivership in March last year before being bought by the Woolworths-owned ALH Group last September.

Mr Northcote also pleaded guilty to two counts of submitting false and misleading documents to ASIC.

He will appear in court again next month, when a sentence date will be set.

Each of the charges carries a maximum penalty of five years jail.
