New Appointments at 8Hotels

8Hotels Collection, has announced the appointment of Maya van de Wetering de Rooy to the position of Head of Sales and Beau Kassas to the position of Public Relations and Social Media Executive.

Maya joins 8Hotels having worked as the Director of Sales at the recently launched Langham Sydney, and prior for three years at The Observatory Hotel. She brings more than a decade of sales experience across luxury and boutique hotel brands including Orient-Express, Rocco Forte Collection, and The Leading Hotels of the World.

Beau Kassas joins 8Hotels having worked in Marketing and Public Relations at Gelatissimo, the international artisan gelato franchise also experiencing huge growth, and prior for two years offering his extensive skills in PR agencies supporting brands like Art Series Hotels, Vibe Hotels and Travelodge Hotels.

Maya said she was excited about joining 8Hotels: "I'm thrilled to be joining 8Hotels and to be a part of this dynamic, enthusiastic team. 8Hotels' diverse range of properties offers our guests endless options for great quality accommodation and I look forward to working with this innovative and fast growing company."

Beau also comments: "I am very happy to be back in the Hotel PR game. 8Hotels has always been a brand I wanted to work with! There are so many exciting projects approaching – and being the person responsible for getting people talking about them is a real pleasure!"

Maya Van de Wetering de Rooy will oversee the sales strategy for all properties within the 8Hotels Collection, and the properties managed by the group under a white label agreement.

Beau Kassas will review and redevelop the public relations and social media strategy to create a holistic communications plan. Together with the Head of Marketing, Lisa Wallis, they will continue to plan and maximise all marketing initiatives and generate more conversation around each property and 8Hotels as a collection. The first project will be the newest property in the collection, 1888 Pyrmont, set to open in April.
