New GM for The Langham, Sydney

The Langham Hospitality Group is proud to announce the appointment of Sonia Lefevre as the General Manager of their recently opened Sydney property – The Langham, Sydney.

A fourteen year veteran of the luxury hotel industry, Sonia Lefevre has rapidly built a distinguished career in international hospitality management and now leads Hong Kong based Langham Hospitality Group's (LHG) Sydney property, The Langham, Sydney.

With a Bachelor's Degree in Business Hospitality and Tourism from the University of South Australia and a wealth of experience from her extensive career, Ms Lefevre has a strong Sales & Marketing and Rooms Division background, having held senior Sales & Marketing positions in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

Ms Lefevre joins The Langham, Sydney from her post as Hotel Manager of The Langham, Hong Kong where she joined LHG in 2010. Ms Lefevre successfully repositioned the Hong Kong property from a domestically-oriented entity to an internationally recognised luxury hotel standard, as well as the leading hotel in the busy Kowloon precinct.

Prior to her role as Hotel Manager, Ms Lefevre worked in various 2IC positions across Australia. She managed a highly publicised $45 million renovation project for a prominent Melbourne hotel, while still keeping the hotel operational. Ms Lefevre was also responsible for devising the marketing strategy to reposition the hotel as Melbourne's Deluxe 5 Star accommodation.

Ms Lefevre brings to The Langham, Sydney the commercial acumen and refined business skills needed to deliver returns within highly competitive markets. Ms Lefevre has been responsible for the rebranding and opening of The Langham, Sydney and positioning the acquisition as the start of Langham's journey in the harbour city. She has successfully executed an organisational change by managing a restructure and building of the Langham culture in this unique luxury hotel. She looks forward to managing the renovations of the hotel, commencing in 2013.
