The Market Grocer Dried Fruit & Nuts : product recall

The NSW Food Authority advises:

The Market Grocer has recalled batches of its dried raisins and fruit and nut mix products from Thomas Dux Grocers, Harris Farm Markets and other independent grocers in the NSW, ACT and VIC.

The products are being recalled due to an undeclared allergen sulphur dioxide (220) which can cause reactions including asthma, rashes, irritable bowel syndrome, and headaches in people with an allergy or intolerance to it.

The recalled products are:

  • The Market Grocer Raisins (Golden)  500g in clear plastic packaging
  • The Market Grocer Crimson Raisins 500g in clear plastic packaging
  • The Market Grocer Raisins Cranberry Fruit and Nut Mix  500g in clear plastic packaging

All with  ‘best before’ dates up to and including 30/11/2013.

The recall only applies to the above products.

Any consumers who have a sulphur dioxide (220) allergy or intolerance should not consumer this product and may have a reaction if the product is consumed. 

Consumers can return the products to the place of purchase for a refund.
