New cooking show for Chef Moran

Celebrity chef Matt Moran will be the star of his own cooking show after deciding to hang up his apron as a judge on MasterChef.

Moran will host From Paddock to Plate on the LifeStyle Channel, Foxtel announced on Monday.

The pay-TV show will take Moran back to his roots in country Australia, where his lifelong obsession of using nothing but the very best produce started.

"I grew up on a farm, and the land is where my real passion for food was born. I'm obsessed with using nothing but the best quality ingredients I can find, both at home and in my restaurants; it really is the secret to great cooking, always start with great produce," Moran said.

"We live in such a beautiful country that produces some of the best quality food in the world. I'm looking forward to exploring it, to discover and cook with some new and exciting ingredients. And meet the people and producers who share my passion."

Last year, Moran announced he would no longer be a judge on Network Ten's long-running show MasterChef.

"I've come to the conclusion of three years of doing MasterChef, I've decided I don't want to do it anymore," he was quoted as saying at the time.

Outside the world of TV Moran has just opened his latest business venture, Riverbar and Kitchen in Brisbane. He also owns the acclaimed Aria restaurants in Sydney and Brisbane and the Chiswick restaurant in Sydney.
