Maurie Bonta'zola Gorgonzola Dop (blue cheese): product recall

The NSW Food Authority advises:

Calendar Cheese Company has recalled batches of its imported Maurie Bonta'zola Gorgonzola Dop (blue cheese) in Thomas Dux Grocer, David Jones, independent grocers, delicatessens and food services in NSW and other states due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria infection can cause miscarriages in pregnant women, illness in the elderly and death in people with compromised immune systems.

The affected product is:

  • Maurie Bonta'zola Gorgonzola Dop triangular section of a wheel with random weight between 1.3kg and 1.5kg with 'best before' dates of 17/01/13 and 21/02/13.
    *The product is usually sold to consumers in smaller pieces.


The recall only applies to the above product.

Consumers should not eat this product. Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
