Your beer, wine and spirits tips revealed

TheShout readers have predicted that mainstream beer will be the alcohol category that will take the biggest hit in 2013.

Respondents to TheShout's recent 2013 Market Predictions Survey backed craft beer and cider to continue their recent growth, with light RTDs and mainstream beer to continue their decline.

A total of 55.2 per cent of respondents predicted that mainstream beer will show the least growth of any category in 2013, followed by light RTDs at 24.5 per cent.

A total of 42 per cent of respondents predicted that craft beer will show the most growth this year out of all beer, cider and RTD categories, while cider was narrowly behind with backing from 37.6 per cent of readers.

White wine was tipped to show the biggest growth of any wine category, gaining favour with 38.3 per cent of readers. Champagne was predicted to grow the most by 23.3 per cent of readers and Australian sparkling wine by 22.7 per cent.

Vodka continues to dominate the spirits category, with 25 per cent of readers predicting it will see the most growth, followed by American whiskey at 21 per cent.
