Gallagher Hotels expand pub repertoire with The Oriental Hotel

Gallagher Hotels have added The Oriental Hotel, in the Blue Mountains to their growing list of venues across the state. Located in the picturesque town of Springwood, the heritage-listed hotel is an ideal retreat for local residents and tourists exploring the area.

Steeped in history since its beginning in 1876, The Oriental Hotel (previously The Springwood Hotel), is the eighth hotel in the Gallagher group; joining several PJ Gallagher's Irish Pubs across Sydney, The Union, North Sydney, Monkey Bar in Balmain and Le Pub, Sydney’s coolest pub as named by The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Pub Guide.
The Oriental Hotel is a step in a new direction for the Gallaghers, with the Sydney-centric couple expanding into greater NSW for the first time.

Patrick Gallagher, Gallagher Hotels, comments "Angela and I saw a unique opportunity in Springwood with the location offering both a traditional hotel as well as a hatted restaurant. Through these, we will work closely with Brad and Teresa Jones to deliver a relaxed venue with  affordable and quality food.

“We are excited to be expanding into a region with such a rich hotel history and are thrilled to add The Oriental Hotel to our growing portfolio of venues across the state,” adds Patrick.

Ori Cafe, the heritage-style restaurant, remains one of the most revered dining venues in the Blue Mountains. Angela Gallagher comments, "having the opportunity to work with a one-hatted restaurant within a postcard-style town like Springwood. It aligns perfectly to Gallagher Hotels' aim of delivering a high quality of food for a memorable dining experience.

“Across our Irish and French venues, we work closely with our award winning executive chef, Ronny Ghantous, to create high quality meals that are authentic to the cuisine. From traditional items such as Irish Stew and Beef Bourguignon Pie to the gourmet Duck Rillette and Foie Gras – our customers praise the and quality of produce and unique flavours,” adds Angela.

In addition to Le Pub’s latest win in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Pub Guide, the Gallaghers have received a number of industry awards for their quality service and food offerings including: Winner, Best Restaurant- 2012 AHA Awards (Uncorked), 2012 Finalist Savour Awards – Best Restaurant In A Pub (Uncorked, The Union), Winner - Chef of the Year 2010 (Ronny Ghantous, Executive Head Chef of Gallagher Hotel Management), Winner – Restaurant and Caterers NSW Awards for Excellence 2010 – Best Restaurant In A Pub (Uncorked, The Union).
