New wine bar for Melbourne building

Look for a new hole-in-the-wall wine bar in the Melbourne building in June, as Pasquale Trimboli of Mezzalira continues the street-style revival of the building.

Trimboli, pictured, says the wine bar will offer wine by the glass and snacks such as cured meats, panini and cheese in the early evenings, Monday to Friday, closing about 7.30pm or 8pm.

All outside on the pavement, the kind of place where you stop by for a drink, all of which has a very European vibe to it.

The wine bar will be up and running before he starts his long-planned refurbishment of Mezzalira, for which there’s no start date yet, but which he hopes to have  completed by spring.

With the Cataldos’ Loading Zone in the laneway behind, this precinct is looking good.
