Council keen to meet Clyne Foods site owner

The Yarriambiack Shire says it is excited the site of former dried fruits processor Clyne Foods at Warracknabeal has been sold.

The company went into receivership after talks with its bank failed and its assets were sold off in February.

The site was auctioned off last week and was bought for nearly $850,000.

Mayor Kylie Zanker says it is hoping to meet the unknown buyer soon and discuss its plans for the site.

"I think everyone in town is waiting with bated breath to find out exactly who it is," she said.

"We've heard numerous rumours around the place about who it is but we're waiting excitedly and from a council perspective, we're all eager to help as far as possible and practicable to help them settle in and move forward."
