Aussie wines among world's most admired

Two high-profile Australian wine companies have been named among the world’s most admired wine brands by a leading UK drinks publication.

Penfolds and Jacob’s Creek came in at number four and five respectively in the annual ‘World’s Most Admired Wine Brands’ survey compiled by respected UK trade publication Drinks International.

Topping the list for the second year running was Concha y Toro, while in second place, also for the second year running, was Torres, followed by Antinori, Penfolds, Jacob’s Creek, Kendall-Jackson, Michel Chapoutier, Guigal, Vega Sicilia and Chateau Margaux.

Jacob’s Creek global marketing director, Jo Adamo, told TheShout that brand was thrilled to make the list, which is voted for by 60 of the world’s most respected wine critics, including several Masters of Wine.

"This accolade is a reflection of our long-term commitment to quality, as well as the significant investment we have made into building the Jacob’s Creek brand and supporting our True Character platform," Adamo said.

"Initiatives such as our association with Andre Agassi in line with the annual sponsorship of Australian Open activation, the launch of our new range of wines Cool Harvest, as well as a new TVC – all of which have contributed in making our brand an admired one. It’s been a busy year for the brand and we are incredibly proud to feature yet again on the Drinks International Most Admired Wine Brands list."
