Health minister identifies more accommodation anomalies

The Health Minister Kim Hames says he has found further discrepancies as he re-examines expenses claims.

Doctor Hames was stripped of his tourism portfolio this week after incorrectly claiming country accommodation allowances between 2009 and 2011.

He admitted to wrongly claiming more than one thousand dollars in expenses, saying he was embarrassed by the slip-up.

He's since started to go back through all of his claims, and says he has found other errors.

"What we found is that there are some more where I have got it wrong but there are lots of others where I've got it wrong but the way around," he said.

"[There are] lots of nights where I could have claimed, but didn't.

"Now, I'm not going to worry about those, because frankly I don't think, well, I don't care about them and I'm sure the public didn't care."

The Opposition Leader Mark McGowan says the Health Minister needs to immediately release the details of the incorrect claims.
