Fledgling Sydney wholesaler joins NILWA

Sydney's newest liquor wholesaler has become the 12th member of National Independent Liquor Wholesalers Association (NILWA).

NILWA this morning announced the addition of Gateway Liquor Wholesalers as its newest member wholesaler, effective from today.

Established this year by industry veterans John Raymond and Ross Ryan, Gateway Liquor is situated in Lane Cove Business Park and is managed by Sandro Lucchitti.

NILWA said the business currently operates from a 1000 square metre warehouse, has an expanding product range of over 2,000 SKUs, and an experienced team of sales, marketing, and logistics personnel overseeing its operations.

"We are very pleased to welcome Gateway Liquor into our group as the fifth member in NSW," said NILWA managing director Martin O'Mara.

"The addition of Gateway increases our national membership to twelve wide range on-premise liquor wholesalers and provides an added dimension to our nationwide specialist on-premise trade offer."

Gateway Liquor director John Raymond told TheShout the greatest asset of NILWA membership is the ability to buy and sell to its customers at a better price.

"There are promotional activities that they run that are significant for our customers - I think it'll be great for us," he said.

Raymond said Gateway now has about nine employees, with the addition of warehouse manager Robert Ramsay, promotional manager and buyer Loui Friess and on-premise sales representative Maggie Patterson.
