ACTs top Restaurants & Caterers shine at 2013 Awards For Excellence
More than 50 of Canberra’s finest restaurants and caterers were recognised at the 2013 Savour AustraliaTM Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence at the National Press Club of Australia last night.
Tosolini’s in Canberra has been named the region’s best Breakfast Restaurant and Tosolini’s Food to Go also received an Honourable Mention in the Events Caterer category.
Portrait Catering in Parkes was also a high achiever, winning the Venue Caterer and being awarded with an Honourable Mention in the Wedding Caterer category.
Portrait Catering was also named the Caterer of the Year, which is one of the Major Awards.
Restaurant & Catering CEO John Hart believes this is an outstanding effort from both Tosolini’s and Portrait Catering.
“The staff should be very proud that they have succeeded in one of the most objective judging systems in the country, which looks at the entire dining experience, rather than a single food dimension”, Mr Hart said.
The other major awards announced at the ceremony include the following:
- Charlie’s Sala Thai Restaurant in Greenway won the Consumer Vote Award;
- And Grazing Restaurant in Gundaroo was awarded the Restaurant of the Year
The Awards for Excellence is the most dependable and authoritative guide to Australia’s best restaurants and caterers, which has set the National benchmark for objectively recognising best practice.
The winning businesses will now compete with other region finalists in the National finals to be held at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Monday 28 October.
