Public meeting on Girilambone RSL Club re-opening

There are plans to reopen the Girilambone RSL Club but under a different name.

The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority has received a liquor licence application for what is being called, the Hog and Billy Hotel on Arcturus Street.

The unnamed applicant wants to operate the hotel from 10am until midnight up to six days a week and occasionally on Sundays.

There is also a plan to sell some alcohol over the bar for takeaway, and the applicant also wants an authorised area for minors within the hotel.

In a Community Impact Statement police say they have no objection to the hotel, but adequate measures to prevent drink driving must be taken.

The applicant has also consulted with the Bogan Shire Council, the Roads and Maritime Service and New South Wales Health,

About fourteen residents have written letters supporting the venue.

A public meeting about the proposal is being held in the town in the afternoon of Thursday 15th August.
