"We're undertaking some discussions with the designers of the bus to really be able to understand all of its capabilities," said Ms La Rovere.

She said it's still not clear what the bus would be used for, but that The Palace - whose accommodation boasts a "Priscilla Suite" - is the obvious place for it.

"I think it makes sense," she said. "I know Stephan Elliott, the director of Priscilla, was very excited when he knew we had put in a submission.

"He'd love it to end up at the hotel. He was a very big fan of the hotel and its impact on the movie."
