Vote of confidence in Brisbane accommodation market

The upgrading of the number of Qantas flights between Los Angeles and Brisbane to daily from December will assist with underpinning growth in the accommodation market in the Queensland capital, according to the Accommodation Association of Australia.

The Association's Chief Executive Officer, Richard Munro, welcomed the news as timely for Brisbane accommodation operators.

"With new room inventory in Brisbane on the horizon, the accommodation industry will benefit from the expansion of Qantas services into the city from Los Angeles," Mr Munro said.

"It's a terrific sign of confidence and one which has the potential to grow the key indicator of revenue per available room.

"The accommodation industry looks forward to seeing more North Americans enjoying the best that a Queensland - and Australian - summer has to offer.

"It's also pleasing that this additional aviation access is being supported by an increase in marketing, which is important to ensuring the extra capacity is utilised."
