Winemakers' new plan to fix industry

The Australian winemaking industry says it's now got a comprehensive plan to cut oversupply and increase prices.

The Winemakers Federation of Australia says the plan, which has just been released, is the most comprehensive ever put together.

CEO Paul Evans says that a drop in the dollar means the world needs a reminder about Australian wine.

"But of course, when it did increase, our competitors from places like Chile and Argentina and elsewhere filled the vacuum in important markets like the US in particular.

"And it's about us going back to our consumers and going back to our distributors and reminding them of the great value that is Australian wine."
