QLD's finest restaurants & caterers take home top honours

Queensland’s finest restaurants and caterers were recognised at the 2013 Savour AustraliaTM Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence at Epicure in the Brisbane Town Hall last night (9th September 2013).

Jellyfish Restaurant in Brisbane won the Brisbane / Darling Downs Restaurant of Year, Videre Restaurant at RACV Royal Pines Resort in Benowa was titled the Gold Coast Restaurant of the Year, The Long Apron in Montville took out the Sunshine Coast Restaurant of the Year and M Yogo in Cairns won the Northern Queensland Restaurant of the Year category.

Customs House in Brisbane was named the South East Queensland Caterer of the Year and Port Douglas Catering & Events in Port Douglas dazzled the judges in the Caterer of the Year category.

Hatsuhana Restaurant in Main Beach was honoured with the Consumer Vote Award and Salsa Bar & Grill took out the same category in Northern Queensland.

The Awards for Excellence is the most dependable and authoritative guide to Australia’s best restaurants and caterers, which has set the National benchmark for objectively recognising and promoting best practice.

Restaurant & Catering Australia CEO John Hart believes it is important to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in food and service standards.

“The winners should be proud that they have been judged and rigorously reviewed amongst about 1,500 entrants in one of the most objective awards systems that looks at the entire dining experience, rather than a single food or service dimension”, said Mr Hart.

The winning businesses will now compete with other region finalists in the National finals to be held at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Monday 28 October.
