Mantra takes over Soul

an57-1-DN-Soul Surfers ParadiseMantra Group has added the Soul tower in Surfers Paradise to its portfolio.

The 77-level tower, that was managed by Accor as Sea Temple Surfers Paradise, will be rebranded Soul Surfers Paradise from 1 November.

Mantra's appointment has been made by Soul's receiver and manager, Michael Fung of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Soul was developed by Juniper Group but was placed into receivership last October.

"By operating the apartment-letting business as Soul Surfers Paradise, Mantra Group can utilise its expertise to capitalise on Soul's profile in the market," Mr Fung said.

Mantra Group chief executive Bob East said, "Soul Surfers Paradise is a very exciting addition to our network. The property is recognised as an outstanding development and our vision is for Soul to be considered one of the most iconic and successful integrated beachside properties in Australia."

With the addition of Soul Surfers Paradise the number of facilities operated in Australia and New Zealand by Mantra Group rises to more than 114 with more than 15,000 rooms under management.
