Gallagher Hotels take over The Heritage and relaunch as Belgian Beer Cafe

Sydney Hotel Group, Gallagher Hotels, has added Belgian to their growing list of cuisines as they take over The Heritage  in The Rocks. Known for its high ceilings, mahogany-stained interior and traditional Belgian food, the pub is the twelfth venue to join the growing pub roster for Gallagher Hotels.

Angela Gallagher, Gallagher Hotels, comments, "The Heritage in The Rocks is an extremely well-loved venue, which offers both an amazing location and traditional Belgian food of a high quality. We will be relaunching the venue as a traditional Belgian Beer Cafe and are working closely with the team in Brussels to bring this vision to life."

"We have already started a new menu, which includes the traditional favourites, like Mussels Tintin Au Congo,  but with some new items like our popular Charcuterie and a Belgian Beer Paddle. Whilst the cuisine is similar to those of our French offerings, this menu allows our Executive Chefs to work with new ingredients and dishes unique to France's neighbour.

Located on historic Harrington Street in The Rocks, The Heritage was designed by Belgium-based design firm, Creneau International, and aims to replicate the traditional Belgian bistro. Built on top of the footings and flagstones of an 1830's building, The Heritage merges the best of Belgian food and beer and remnants of Australia's history

"The Rocks is such an iconic, historical spot and we're excited to be working in such a food-focused, authentic venue. The interior pieces, from the tables and chairs to the mirrors and bar, were all imported from Belgium, and align with our vision to provide authentic pubs where food and atmosphere are of the utmost importance.

Gallagher Hotels has received a number of industry awards for their quality service and food offerings including: Best Restaurant- 2012 AHA Awards (Uncorked), 2012 Finalist Savour Awards – Best Restaurant In A Pub (Uncorked, The Union), Winner - Chef of the Year 2010 (Ronny Ghantous, Executive Head Chef of Gallagher Hotel Management), Winner – Restaurant and Caterers NSW Awards for Excellence 2010 – Best Restaurant In A Pub (Uncorked, The Union).
