Katanning Hotel back trading with new licensee

An approval for a new licensee at The Katanning Hotel has been granted, after it was forced to shut its doors earlier this year because of reports of lewd incidents.

The Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor has confirmed the hotel is now allowed to resume trading, under the new licensee Carmine Torricella.

The Liquor Commission says closed-circuit television footage taken from the hotel between May and September last year showed skimpy barmaids entertaining customers and engaging in semi-clad mud wrestling.

The former licensee, Trina Lane, was banned from holding a liquor licence for five years.
