Cairns nightclub bouncer attacked

A CAIRNS nightclub security guard has allegedly had his testicles grabbed and been spat on in just one of several incidents that kept police busy in the Cairns CBD on Saturday night.

Cairns police duty officer Senior Sergeant Dion Readman said the alleged offender, a 26-year-old Mooroobool man, had allegedly refused to leave The Woolshed just before 2am yesterday after being asked by security.

The man was being escorted out when he allegedly grabbed the 40-year-old security guard’s testicles and spat in his face.

Police were called and the man was arrested and taken to the Cairns watchhouse, where he also allegedly spat on an ­officer.

The man was charged with failing to leave a licensed premises, disorderly behaviour, assault and serious assault of police.

He was granted bail early yesterday morning and is scheduled to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on October 8.
