City Beach is caterer of year

City Beach Events and Weddings is celebrating being named Regional NSW Function/ Convention Centre Caterer of the Year at the 2015 Australian Restaurant & Catering Association Awards.

The award was presented to general manager Mark Davie at Sydney’s Dockside Pavilion at Darling Harbour on Monday night.

Mr Davie described it as a great result that showed the standard being set and maintained by the Wollongong venue previously called City Beach Function Centre.

City Beach Events and Weddings has now become a 2015 National Finalist in the Australian Restaurant & Catering Association’s ‘Awards for Excellence’ for a fifth consecutive year.

Any recognition at the regional, state or national level is considered important because the Restaurant & Catering Association is the industry’s peak body representing over 35,000 restaurant and catering businesses in Australia.

National winners will be announced in Brisbane on October 26.

Mr Davie said an internal refurbishment had recently been completed to help City Beach continue to set a benchmark for functions, weddings and events.

‘’We have forged a consistent national reputation for excellence in the catering and events industry,’’ he said.
