Friends' Central Perk pop-up cafe coming to Sydney

It has been 11 long years since we reluctantly bid farewell to Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey.

But at last, some reprieve for long-suffering Friends fans: Central Perk cafe (the one with the orange couch) is coming to Sydney. 

The big orange couch is coming to Oz.

A real-life version of the fictional New York City coffee shop will pop-up at Hyde Park in Sydney's CBD for two weeks in October to celebrate the release of the entire back catalogue of Friends on online streaming service Stan.

Sydneysiders and tourists are invited to snap a photo on the iconic orange couch, sip on a cup of free coffee and catch up with friends. There will also be Friends merchandise up for grabs.

The same pop up opened in New York last year and attracted almost 50,000 Friends lovers. The Sydney variation may not have quite that much interest but there are bound to be queues. 

There are those giant mugs.

Central Perk Pop Up will be at the corner of College Street & Liverpool Street, Hyde Park, Sydney from October 5-18, 2015. Sunday-Wednesday: 9am-5pm Thursday-Saturday: 9am-7pm
