Man charged after Sydney pub death

A MAN has been charged following the death of another man who tried to intervene in an alleged indecent assault at an inner-Sydney pub.

POLICE say a man, who was later arrested in Waterloo, indecently assaulted a female patron at the Grosvenor Hotel on Tuesday afternoon.

It's alleged he also assaulted a 52-year-old local man, who fell and had a heart attack when he tried to step in.

The 52-year-old was taken to St Vincent's Hospital but died about 1.30am on Wednesday.

A 58-year-old man has been charged with indecent assault and affray.

He is due before Downing Centre Local Court on October 26.
