Famous Fremantle pub Rosie O'Grady's closing its doors for good

One of Fremantle's most iconic pubs is set to close its doors for good after serving pints to customers for 20 years.

Rosie O'Grady's Fremantle will shut around January 10 once a business transfer to change ownership of the famous Irish pub is complete.

Bar manager Blaise Kalalo said the pub was reverting back to being The Federal Hotel, with new owners and staff managing the bar and the hotel upstairs.

He said Rosie O'Grady's Fremantle was sad to be closing its doors and encouraged customers to come down for one last drink.

"We want to thank all of them [our patrons], for the good times and the great craic as the Irish would say," Mr Kalalo said.

"You will all be missed. Come down for one last pint before she changes hands."

Regulars of the local drinking spot took to its Facebook page to share memories of their time there.

"Had many a great meal and evening here. Thanks for the memories," wrote one commentator.

"Very sad too see it go, love Rosie's my fav place in Freo I'm shocked, devo Freo won't be the same [sic]," wrote another.

The sale will have no impact on the Rosie O'Grady's on James Street in Northbridge.
