Chur Burger, the legends behind Sydney's burger craze, launches the Sausage Dog Today

"Australia's (delicious) answer to the American hotdog."

The Chrissy Cuts’ pork shoulder, smoked hickory and brown sugar sausage, on sale at Chur Burger in Surry Hills from 5pm TODAY, has been crowned Australia’s first Sausage Dog.

Over the last two weeks, Surry Hills’ cult burger store, Chur Burger, has been working with Newtown’s Sausage Queen, Chrissy Flanagan, to help create Sydney’s answer to the American Hot Dog… the Chur Sausage Dog. The winning sausage is a custom made pork shoulder sausage, topped with sherry vinegar caramelized onions, black garlic aioli, pickled red cabbage and grated manchgo.

These sausages contain only the best ingredients - made only from prime cuts of free-range meat with no preservatives, fillers or flours. “My vision is to remove the guesswork and provide a trustworthy product full of goodness,” Chrissy said. ”These are the sausages you’d make if you had the time, from the ingredients you’d choose yourself,” she added.

You can get your hands on the Chur Sausage Dog from 5pm today. The full sized “Dog” (a meal in itself) is just $14. The Sausage Dog will be rolled out at Surry Hills initially, with plans to introduce across other Chur restaurants at a later date as well as from Foodora home delivery.
