UberEATS hits the sunshine coast

So the UberEATs machine keeps expanding.

And now the latest area it’s reached in Australia is the Sunshine Coast.

UberEATS hit the Sunshine Coast last week, ensuring that food was not that far away for the people there. Just reach for your smart phone.

However, the UberEATS expansion is not proceeding that rapidly.

Anyone living outside the heart of the coast will have to wait longer.

The food delivery app is now available for for food destinations north of Parrearra, west of Buderim and south of the Maroochy River.

That’s for people regardless of whether they’re at home, in the workplace or at any other location.

When will it spread to other parts of the coast?

UberEATS is not giving much away.

An UberEATS spokesman told the Sunshine Coast Daily that company was hoping to expand the delivery area "as soon as possible".

However, the spokesman could not confirm when exactly that would occur.

The UberEATS app has launched with 29 restaurants, cafes and pubs on the coast.

The list so far:

"We're speaking with a lot of different restaurants," the spokesman told the Sunshine Coast Daily.

UberEATS has so far recruited 300 Sunshine Coast Uber drivers. They have all registered with the company.

UberEATS says just under 100 of those drivers are exclusively UberEATS drivers/

The rest have also take jobs for the UberX ridesharing service.

They will deliver at any time from 10am-10pm seven days a week, but obviously have to work in the restaurant’s trading hours.
