Sheraton’s $40 million refurbishment
Sheraton on the Park in Sydney is putting its Sheraton Club Lounge and 558 guestrooms, including 50 suites, through an extensive $40 million makeover.
It will be fully renovated, giving it modern interiors and residential-style additions including walk-in robes.
“We’ve reinvented the hotel’s top-tier offering, including our Sheraton Club and Suites, as well as the guestrooms, to enhance our offer for discerning travellers seeking a more residential style of accommodation that reflects the level of luxury they are accustomed to in their everyday lives,” David Fraser, General Manager, Sheraton on the Park told Spice News.
“We have fused the hotel’s classic grandeur and location to create a sophisticated hotel that responds to the expectations of the modern traveller for more authentic experiences and personalised service.”
The guestrooms and Sheraton Club will be transformed from floor-to-ceiling;
The emphasis will be on approachable luxury.
Headed by acclaimed interior designer Joseph Pang, the entrance of the exclusive Sheraton Club will be reconfigured with Bubinga wooden panels.
There will be sliding doors while the lounge inside will be designed to offer individual spaces for guests.
That will include a private reading room, an open lounge with a fire place and executive board room. It will also have a semi-circular skylight, serving as the signature architectural feature of the Sheraton Club Lounge. With natural light flowing in, the skylight will be eye-catching.
The layout of the Sheraton Club, which is located on the 21st floor, will capture all the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, Hyde Park and St Mary’s Cathedral.
There will be views of these can throughout the lounge and the outdoor terraces.
The guest rooms won’t have the conventional furniture found in city hotels.
They will have modern residential pieces, including plush chaise lounges.
The renovation is scheduled for completion in early 2018.
