Meriton and Deliveroo strike deal

Meriton, Australia’s largest owner-operator of hotel apartments, has struck a deal with Deliveroo.

The deal with the on-demand food delivery service will provide guests with access to an enormous selection of food from all the top local restaurants.

And they will have that service while they’re on business or holiday.

The deal will see Meriton suites across Australia stocked with a Deliveroo menu offering guests a selection of food from all the nearby restaurants

Restaurants participating in the deal include Burger Project, Mary’s Burgers and Jamie’s Italian.

To place an order, all guests have to do is simply call the Guest Services team, and they will handle it all.

What happens then is that Meriton places the order and pays for it on the guest’s behalf. And the food is then delivered to the door of the guest’s room in 30 minutes or less.

The costs are just added to the hotel bill.

Levi Aron, Country Manager of Deliveroo said the Deliveroo deal is perfect for a hotel group without an in-house restaurant.

He said food delivery was “an easy option” and “a major value-add for a guest’s stay”.

“We’re excited to be the exclusive food delivery partner with such a well-established player in the hotel-apartment sector and introduce more great local restaurants to tourists and business travellers alike,” Aron told Spice News. “Customers enjoy the convenience of at-home delivery, so it’s great to be able to broaden our on-demand offering and deliver amazing food straight to their hotel door.”

Matthew Thomas, Meriton Suites General Manager said the Deliveroo service added something to traditional hotel room service which was “limited in choice, often unhealthy and expensive”.

“Hotel room service has evolved, and there is no better place for that to happen than at Meriton Suites. Now in partnership with Deliveroo,” Thomas told Spice News.

“We are able to offer our guests with an extensive choice of meals from Sydney and Brisbane’s best restaurants, and the choices are growing by the day. Launched as a trial across a selection of our hotel locations, right off the bat we saw hundreds of orders placed in just a few days, proving this will be a very popular service.”
