Hilton to open Curio Collection in Sydney

Curio Collection by Hilton has signed its first hotel in Sydney.

The Curio Collection by Hilton is designed as a global, upper upscale collection of distinctive hotels

The deal, under a management agreement with M&L Hospitality, will see the hotel open at 65 Sussex Street in December.

The 182 room Curio Collection aims to offer an authentic Sydney experience.

“As the first Curio Collection hotel in Australia, the signing of West Hotel Sydney is an exciting achievement for us,”  Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton told Spice News.

“Sydney has an eclectic and diverse mix of people, cultures and experiences – all of which are reflected in this property.”

The hotel will be located on the Western corridor of Sydney’s central business district, adjacent to the new leisure and commercial Barangaroo precinct. The location will ensure guests will have access to all the local landmarks as well as various shopping, dining and commercial precincts.

Due for completion by the end of the year, the hotel has been designed by by Australian architecture firm, Fitzpatrick and Partners. The interiors have been done by Woods Bagot, West Hotel.

Apart from the 182 stylish guest rooms, the hotel will also offer four spacious suites.

That’s in addition to a restaurant and bar; a fully equipped gym and a private meeting/dining room.

There also plans to create striking, seasonal arrangements and installations so the hotel management is now working on this with a Sydney florist.

“The new West Hotel Sydney is a one-of-a-kind addition to our Australia portfolio. We are extremely pleased to once again work with M&L Hospitality on this remarkable new hotel project,” Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Asia and Australasia, Hilton told Spice News. “We look forward to welcoming guests to experience all of the hallmarks of a Curio Collection by Hilton property.”

The West Hotel Sydney will be added to the 16 hotels open and under development in Australia, including one, already managed on behalf of M&L Hospitality.
