Mona Vale Hotel re-opens as the Park House Hotel

Good news for those heading up to Sydney’s northern beaches.

The Mona Vale Hotel has been rebranded as Park House Food & Liquor.

It’s all part of a two-year, five-stage $12 million redevelopment.

Why the name change? It’s all to do with the venue’s location. Right in the heart of Mona Vale.

It all coincides with Justin Hemmes-led Merivale  last year opening its enormously popular venue, the Newport.

Added to that was the group snapping the Northern Beaches pub, the Collaroy, for a reported $21 million in August.

So now we have the new-look Mona Vale Hotel.

The venue has been completely reimagined and turned into the Park House Food & Liquor.

And after the two years of work developing the site, it’s now open to the public.

It’s a multi-faceted venue.

It offers patrons not only a restaurant but also a cocktail lounge an all-weather courtyard, a brew bar and various garden spaces catering for a whopping 2000 people onsite.

Added to that are the plans for a craft beer bar, Front Yard Brews & Burgers being set up in December.

And in January, there are plans for a carpark food truck concept, Parkside Truck Stop which will transform the pub's car park into a food truck destination. And they’re looking at creating a party and event space in 2018.

Head Chef David Clark (ex-Jamie's Italian) is in the kitchen.

And his focus is on creating a Southern California, share-focused menu.

The food on offer will be Mexican, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours and dishes.

Examples include zucchini, feta and herb fritters with sumac, yoghurt and coriander and harissa spiced wood roasted free rage chicken and baked snapper fillet with tahini dressing, slow-cooked lamb forequarter with herb pilav, and a whole suckling pig.

The bar has a wide-ranging and eclectic wine list and a range of craft beers.
