The Darling and The Star Grand for the Gold Coast

After undertaking one of the most expensive and comprehensive hotel refurbishments in Australia, the Star Gold Coast has unveiled two new hotel names: The Darling and The Star Grand which is Star Gold Coast’s existing hotel.

The Star Grand, which has been put through an 18 month redevelopment revamping its 596 rooms, will now feature an opulent Penthouse, lavish suites boasting spacious outdoor terraces, Executive Deluxe Rooms, and Superior Deluxe Rooms

That is in addition to an existing lift and escalator upgrade, additional meeting room space and new health and wellness facilities.

The Darling has been fitted out with new signature bars, restaurants, world-class gaming amenities, and 57 luxury suites up to 328 square metres in size with expansive windows, complete with butler service and luxe amenities and finishes.

It will also have nine-suite types, including The Darling Suites. The largest of these is between 253-328 square metres.

That’s a lot of space in the 17 storey building with two opulent king bedrooms and balconies from 80 square metres in size.

It will also offer a high-end restaurant and lounge bar overlooking an infinity pool extending five metres over the side of the tower, 67 metres above the ground with ocean views.

The main access point to The Darling will be a new bridge, which meets the existing Gold Coast Highway and Elizabeth Avenue intersection.

The Darling on the Gold Coast follows on from The Darling at The Star Sydney, an established and multi-award winning hotel.

The Darling at The Star Sydney was the first in New South Wales to be awarded a Forbes Five-Star rating, a highly coveted award in the global luxury travel sector.

It will be managed by John Autelitano, the group’s General Manager of Hotels who most recently led The Star Sydney’s hotel portfolio.

His career has spanned more than 20 years working with global brands across Asia Pacific, the Caribbean and the United States.
