GetFish offers seafood deliveries

Antonio Muollo, 18, has come up with the perfect solution for those wanting seafood delivered to their homes this Christmas.

It’s the answer for those who drive to Sydney Fish Market and then circle the car park looking for spots,  and then queue up to order their fish.

His solution is simple: GetFish, an online store that offers 200 products from De Costi Seafoods, his family’s shop at the market.

Antonio knows all about the market, he’s been there since his teens and noticed the gap in the market back then.

“It’s been an idea of mine since I was about 15,” Antonio told Broadsheet. “But now that I’ve finished school, I can do it.”

GetFish offers to deliver fresh, premium seafood to homes within a 35km radius of the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont. It’s a delivery zone that comfortably includes Mona Vale, Castle Hill, Blacktown, Cabramatta and Cronulla.

If you order before midday,  GetFish will deliver the seafood on the same day. Otherwise, it is delivered the day after that although Christmas might affect the timing a little.

That means customers have until Thursday to lodge their orders for deliveries on December 23 and Christmas Eve.

Delivery is a flat $10 and orders over $100 are free.

And GetFish offers pretty much anything you would find in a good seafood store: jars of caviar; raw and cooked prawns; Moreton Bay bugs; whole blue swimmer crab; oysters, mussels and pippis; filleted salmon, tuna and snapper; and whole snapper, barramundi and kingfish.

Antonio’s timing is perfect. Being so close to Christmas, he is already inundated with orders.

His company has 10 drivers moving around town in a mix of branded vans and short-term rentals.

“We launched at the right time,” Antonio told Broadsheet. “I’ve got about 800 orders at the moment. But I think we’ll hit 1000 tomorrow.”
