Courtyard by Marriott heading to Melbourne in 2021
Marriott International has announced it will debut its Courtyard by Marriott brand in Melbourne. The 150-room new build Courtyard by Marriott West Melbourne is slated to open in 2021.
“Together with Ousia Investments we’re delighted to announce Courtyard by Marriott West Melbourne,” said Richard Crawford, senior director of Hotel Development, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International. “Courtyard by Marriott is our largest brand by distribution with more than 1100 properties globally, and it has been delivering outstanding results for the select service tier.”
Located at 50 Batman Street, on the edge of Melbourne’s central business district in West Melbourne. The hotel will also offer a signature restaurant with outdoor seating, a grab and go outlet, and communal public spaces. Event organisers will be able to take advantage of 250sqm of flexible meeting space.
“Marriott International is growing quickly in Australia, where we currently operate 19 hotels and have a further 19 in the pipeline,” said Sean Hunt, area vice president, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International.
“Demand is on the rise for modern yet affordable accommodations that appeal to ambitious and enterprising guests, so we’re delighted we’ve found the right site to debut the Courtyard by Marriott brand in the Melbourne market.”
