Butcher's Arms closes its doors

The Butcher's Arms on Perth’s St George's Terrace has closed its doors after only 12 months.

Owner Scott Taylor said it was time to "humbly and quietly bow out" after deciding not to renew the lease for another four years.

The closure of Taylor’s latest venture follows a similar pattern with his previous restaurants, The Trustee and Beaufort Local, going into voluntary administration late last year with some suppliers and landlords left unpaid, according to WAtoday.

I wanted to use [The Butcher's Arms] as a vehicle to get money back to creditors," Taylor said on Wednesday morning,” he told the WAtoday."I've certainly made some positive inroads."

He now plans move on from hospitality ownership into a consulting phase.

"Who knew that a failed restaurant could enable me to help others avoid the same pitfalls?" Taylor said.
