Con Castrisos returns as national president for Restaurant & Catering Australia

Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) has appointed Con Castrisos as national president, replacing Mark Scanlan who stepped down from the role at the organisation’s annual general meeting held earlier this week.

Castrisos first joined the national board of R&CA in 2000, and returns to the role of national president having previously served in the position from 2002 to 2009. Under the previous Restaurant & Catering Queensland Association, he served as state president from 1999 to 2004. He also chaired the Industry Action Agenda from 2005 to 2008.

Castrisos was also awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the restaurant and catering industry in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.

R&CA CEO Juliana Payne congratulated Castrisos on his appointment, welcoming his knowledge and experience in the sector.

“Having previously served as R&CA national president for seven years, Con’s knowledge of the industry and the association will be of great value,” she said.

“I look forward to working with Con to deliver the best possible outcomes for the nation’s café, restaurant and catering sector. I’d also like thank Mark Scanlan for his immense contribution to the association both as president and as a board member for the last 16 years as he steps down to pursue new ventures.”
