North Sydney's Greenwood Hotel gets a refresh
The historic Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney has relaunched with a new look under the helm of hospitality group Tilley and Wills.
Greenwood Hotel is their second venue for founders Simon Tilley and Nick Wills, with the pair recently purchasing The Clovelly Hotel and Bistro Moncur Mosman.
Tilley and Wills enlisted design firm SJB Interiors, landscape designers The Plant Room and art studio Loose Leaf to overhaul Greenwood's interior which is divided into five spaces.
“The architecture of the original building is beautiful local sandstone with classic high, timber ceilings," said Wills. "The new design features throughout are intended to accentuate these features, rather than detract from the existing architecture.”
One new change is the addition of a new external bar in the northern courtyard. "Opening up the interior space and reinstating the natural light is also serving to draw more people to the interior spaces,” Wills added.
The classic pub style menu has also been revamped under group executive chef Brad Sloane and head chef Sam Matthews complete with burgers and beer-battered fish.
