Dual branded property opens in the heart of Melbourne

Melbourne’s newest central dual-branded hotel accommodation Novotel Melbourne Central and ibis Melbourne Central has welcomed its first guests as part of a soft opening, ahead of an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 10.

Housed in a 35-floor tower on Little Lonsdale Street, the 483-room property is home to three restaurants and bars helmed by executive chef Michael Smith. Goldie Canteen + Brews, Pretty Boy Italian Steakhouse and Floyd’s bar will officially launch in January 2019. Smith previously headed Melbourne's Tonka from 2012 to 2015, and was head chef at Mamasita in 2016.

Occupying levels 20-35, Novotel Melbourne Central offers 213 five-star rooms and suites, while ibis Melbourne Central features 270 premium economy guest rooms on levels 4-18.

“This is a significant, first of its kind dual-branded hotel development for Melbourne and AccorHotels,” said general manager Michelle Bradshaw. “Our central location and two levels of midscale and premium economy accommodation means that there is an option for all travellers to have a 5-star sleep at affordable prices.”
